I AM AN EYE FOR NO EYE

Who We Are

about cFDA

Campaign for Differently Abled recognizes that there are more than 40 million visually impaired in India and 285 million across the globe. These individuals are all around us, yet we often don’t see them.
Why?
Because blind people are often invisible, absent from mainstream society. When seen either crossing a road or trying to make a payment at a shop, they are mostly overlooked or avoided. Only by learning about one another and facilitating greater interaction between blind and sighted people can we overcome this hurdle and become a more inclusive community.

At CFDA, we are driven by a vision to see individuals with blindness, low vision, deafblind, and multi-disabilities in India empowered and informed, with the ability to reach their full potential. Our mission is to provide education and training that enables these individuals to attain self-sufficiency, leading to employment or self-employment opportunities, thereby integrating them with dignity into mainstream society.

How We See

our Thinking

Let's See What They See And
Show Them What We See

There could not be a better way to see than with closed eyes. Today’s technology and education has created an environment where visual impairment doesn’t hold back anyone from achieving what they dream. The biggest obstacle isn’t blindness – it’s a world that can’t see beyond it. We can see the colors of darkness only by casting aside stigmas and fears and embracing a new understanding of how to include blind people in our daily lives.   The number of people mentally blind are much more than those physically. While a visually impaired can see us with what we call the “THIRD EYE” by sensing our presence, a person who can physically see refuses to accept their presence.

What They Experience

Societal Perceptions

They Are Not God

Visually impaired really feel belittled especially in India when they are treated with sympathy and people give them free food, wash their feet and take their blessings. They are never treated as normal and are always on the extreme ends – either god or trash.

We need to open our eyes to the fact that THEY ARE NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS. They are not gods but yes they do worship gods and goddesses as per their choice like any of us.

Who We Are

our belief

At CFDA, we strive to create a world where these individuals can live independently, with dignity and respect, and are valued members of mainstream society. At CFDA, we are committed to making this vision a reality, one person at a time.

Our goal is to create a society where individuals with blindness, low vision, deafblind, and multi-disabilities have equal opportunities to participate and contribute. We strive to create a world where these individuals can live independently, with dignity and respect, and are valued members of mainstream society.
